| Description: |
"My File Hut" is a free file web hosting site on 3 dedicated linux servers. With the free file hosting account you get 250 megabytes of storage and 10 GB/month limit on bandwidth. Hotlinking or direct linking is allowed for auctions, forum posting, and other websites (free MP3 streaming enabled). There is a 50mb file size limit. Upload all your images, documents, music, video, audio, zip, rar, flash files, and more. All file types are accepted. Registration (free) is required, and there is a 30-day inactivity limit. The free file webhosting is powered by a custom version of the Uploader Celeron Dude script (has several unique mods). "MyFileHut tries to maintain a 99% server uptime, but makes no claims of reliability in serving or web hosting."

I only give a rating of 4 because when they're actually online/working, they're pretty good. Uploads are fairly fast, generous storagespace, hotlinking allowed, no file restrictions. But how much longer are they gonna be down? What's the problem? They've gone from being down here and there to being down for days and days at a time. No word at all on what's going on, or what they're doing to fix the problem or anything. Trouble is, I don't know of any other host that allows all the same things they do!

Host's limitations:
1. MANY DOWNTIMES; Currently down, "again and again"... Namely: ALL SITE + (worse!) ALL FILES!
2. 30 days DEADLINE  That is, the threat of an irreversible loss of the account and files! Knowing that we cannot login at the moment, we all rely on MFH admins magnanimity of common sense, else we have to keep on trying.
Some [+] and [-] aspects:
[+] Fast and relatively big bandwidth,
[+] Almost all file formats (the unsupported ones can be archived).
[-] Slim support (I have no paid - offtopic - account at this host).
[-] Poor files management script (though fair features if your directory is small).
I'd recommend this free host IF you can get to their homepage right now and IF you don't mind the recently repeated and days long downtimes. I hope they ain't under infection/hijack (illegal competition?), hardware failure, illness etc., for they were nice with us. I tried several free hosters; I can say MyFileHut was one of the very best! Their small support is efficient via the forums, but I wish they could E-mail us in the current case.
Conclusion: VERY UNRELIABLE until further explanations/improvements.

I used to like MyFileHut but lately they've been offline for days. First, it was a sporadic offline and things would get back online, but then lately, it has been offline for days. I thought they were done so I had to re-direct all my links to another server and that took way too long. I'm still doing it. I doubt I will be relying on this any more, regardless of whether they've fixed the problem. I can't afford to have them offline too often, if not days.

Seems to be back up and running (at least now). said they figured out the issue, and quarantined it from the rest of the site, so everything "should be" back to normal.

I must say I'm really annoyed by now. their system has been down for more than 3 days! I used to like "myfilehut" but now I gotta look for another service, because that just stinks. They could at least inform us via email that they're updating the system, shutting it down, or whatever.

filehut has issues like any other website. sometimes it can be very annoying but it seems to work more than not, and it's easy to use. I mainly use it to put junk on myspace. if you can tolerate myspace messing up constantly, this is like pie by far. besides, who wants to search for hours for sites that do the same thing. I tried for a few minutes and gave up on finding another site I could upload and stream music free from.
