"The Image Hosting" is a free image hosting solution that can be used to share pictures with friends, post images on message boards and blogs, and direct link images from your personal website or online auction (hot linking allowed free). It generates thumbnails for photos that are larger than 200x200 pixels in resolution. Registration is required to use the service. Limitations: You may upload as many images as you like, as long as each of them is less than 1024 kb (1 MB) in size; File types allowed: .jpg, .jpeg .gif, .png, .swf (Flash files); You are not allowed to hot link fullsize images on any large-scale, non-forum websites; No images will be deleted for inactivity.

Great for a while, but now, with the big fall selling season for eBay auctions, all my hosted images have disappeared from the ebay auction listings. My uploaded images seem to be on the imagehosting web server, but they can't be seen on ebay listings all of the sudden. Now I have dozens of ebay listings to try to revise. And the support e-mail address provided is unresponsive. I guess you get what you pay for! Site may be "free," but it costs money when no one can view the hotlinked images!

I have used this site for nearly two years. When it works, they are fine, The web server responds quickly, but downtime is a major problem! I have used them mainly for my ebay listings, and quite often for no obvious reason the hosted images suddenly disappear! Once you have a single bid on an item, ebay will not allow any changes to the auction listing, so you remain stuck with no image on your ebay auction. it seems there is no way to make contact, and the only explanation given on the FAQ page does not apply. The thumbnails are so tiny it is near impossible to see what is in the picture without enlarging each one! Very time consuming! So in conclusion I cannot recommend this image hosting site, and I am currently transferring all my images to another free image host service which is much more reliable.
