Excellent free hosting. They wish to offer a paid option with php perl etc. and they promises to continue the free option. So if you have only few html pages and images in your web site and you don't require advanced features like php perls etc. you can go for the free version. Also, there is limit of 300kb per file but I dont think usual html or image file exceed this limit.

I think 50webs is the best FREE hosting because it is FREE and provides NO ADS. Meaning that it doesn't force ads so your free web site can be clean of them and so they don't know that you are cheap and lazy to spend money. Also, the new paid hosting are so cheap that it will provide a lot more for just a little cost which is even better extra service. The tech support is so good, I have joined in the help on the forum along with the site admin and moderator. Keep up the good work 50webs!
