"Rapid Sharing .com" provides free file hosting of most filetypes (except JPG, GIF, and PHP files) up to 1 GB in size (multiple archives allowed). Can be used for free hosting of audio/music/sound, video, Flash, images, and compressed archive files, incuding these file types: ZIP, RAR, TAR, WAV, MP3, AVI, SWF, MP4, MOV, MID, torrent files, etc. The custom file-uploading script lets you optionally send the download link to several friends at once. The download web page has a few ads, a download counter, and a delay counter (25 seconds) before the link to download your uploaded file is displayed. If the remotely hosted files are not downloaded for 30 days, they expire and are deleted from the server. RapidSharing.com currently redirects to file.sc (See File.sc reviews).

Opera does not seem to work on the Rapid Sharing site (I run Opera 8.51). Download does not work (No error mesage and no file). SAD that this website is not working better.

they need an upload progress bar. I'm trying them one more time as they went fine for a few weeks, and then every upload failed to give a download link.

Exactly what I wanted. I only wanted to host 1 file, and that's what it did. It was kind of slow but I think that's perfectly normal.

Rapid Sharing is on a new dedicated server, and has a new website design (looks a lot better than before). The file size limitation is doubled (bigger), and split archives are allowed. Note that they do NOT accept uploading images (jpg, gif) now though, as the files cannot be hotlinked, which they say renders uploading images somewhat pointless (I think it would still be useful for very large pics). I uploaded a Flash file (swf), and it worked okay.

Rapidsharing.com is recovering from a server failure and moving to a server that will triple hard drive storage space. No new uploads possible at this time, but will be back shortly.

the downloads finish just halfway, resulting in corrupt downloads. i have been trying to download a 13MB file since morning and it is midnight now. i am not able to download the file thru any other web browser except INTERNET EXPLORER.
