Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

Image shack has been around for a while now, but lately I've noticed its gotten very slow. Sometimes the main page doesn't even load. But then again, its free, and could just be having a hard time scaling with the demand. Hope it speeds up sometime soon.

It's very good quality, the pics you upload never mess up. But latly the site has been really REALLY slow, and many people just don't have the time when we have alot of images.

Best image hosting site you could possibly ever use. Has everything you need and nothing you don't! Signing up is free, but you don't have to if you don't want to track your images. Also has a paid "credits" feature to upload multiple images at a time, but it's 100% optional. Check this out now!

Overall, the concept is great, but in reality it's quite mediocre.
Pros: Free, can load fairly large pictures, easy and clean website.
Cons: No way to remember what pictures you have on their system unless you always keep their cookie or create a new one by using same email registered with.
Verdict: If you need free hosting and don't need it for business (like auctions), ImageShack is a good choice, otherwise look for someone else (as I am doing now!)
