Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

BMP's not allowed because of overall size! GREAT HOST and really fast, it also allows hotlinks (as mentioned before) great for forums and avatars!

I've used image shack for a while now and tried quite a few images to be hosted and all have worked flawlessly, this is one !AWESOME! site. I would highly advise this site for everybody. And image shack, THANKS A MILLION for this wonderfull site.
