It can also be used to direct link images from your personal website or eBay auction. No signup required. Powered by highly reliable Linux dedicated server network. Limitations: File size limit 1.5 MB; File types allowed: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, swf (Flash). Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread! I can host ANY image I want for nothing. My website's vast image galleries are stored on the ImageShack server. I thank ImageShack for their fantastic services! The images are never deleted unless they don't comply with the terms of service. The only limitation is that the images may be no larger than 1MB (1024KB) a piece.

Thanks you so much ImageShack! Now I can post my pics in forums and draw my own. I was thinking of making a game so now I can prototype some items and see how people like them. Thanks! (wow this sounds like an ad on tv doesn't it-weight loss specifically, but this stuff is true ImageShack is awesome.

The increasing amount of ads bugs me a little, but they aren't too intrusive and they have to recoup cash somehow. My issue is that sometimes the thumbnail code does not work correctly, but all in all it's still a great service.

Very good website. Has many features for free such as unlimited picture hosting. Definately the best image hosting site! Keep up the good work!

Image Shack really has no limitations, espessially when compared to other image hosting sites. They allow you to host everything from the usual jpeg and gif file to the more uncommon png and even swf files. Quite unusual for a mere image hosting site. The only negative aspect I could see about this site is they place advertisments everywhere. That, however, is simply not a problem, because the advertisments are Google ads, which are in nature unobtrusive, and what's more - usually relative and interesting. And besides, after you upload the picture you are not held at all to ever using their site again - they allow direct linking to your image! If you do choose to use their site to show people the image (as I do), the page that displays the image has automatic resizing of the image to fit the window's width (clicking on the image brings it back to original size, and visa versa), along with other features like allowing people to rate the image.
I've been using Image Shack ever since I heard about them, about six months ago. Since then, I've experienced absolutly no downtime, and the site has loaded at a speed I would expect from my internet connection, which is quite fast. Now, this is no guarentee that the site HAS no downtime, because all sites have downtime. Any site that claims 100% uptime is simply lying. Some things just can not be avoided. But Image Shack seems to have 99% uptime, which is about the best you could hope for. I at least have never had a problem.
In all, I would definatly recommend Image Shack for hosting images. And I say this in honesty, because every single person I've talked to who has wanted to show me an image but didn't know how, I have told them to upload it to Image Shack. I would suggest the same to you, for any reason you may want an image hosted.
