this is an amazing host, its fast, reliable, and super easy! i found an easy solution for those of you who dont like the link-login (finding your message in your email and following the link)- just bookmark the site, (press crtl+d), this will add this to your favourites. now go to favourites and right click on imageshack's icon and hit properties. direct this favourite to go to your directory every time you click on it by inserting your link in the referral spot. what a nifty idea by me eh? thank you imageshack for being the best image host ever!

I use ImageShack for my eBay auctions and my personal web site. It is always up. There are many convenient way to upload including: Transloader, Sidebar, Syndication on your website and directly from their web site.
Pros: ability to register and keep track of your images, unlimited storage.
Cons: login by using a link emailed to you (no user name and password), cannot upload banner ads.

As of now "img242.echo.cx" isn't working. Although with how many image servers they have, it should be a pretty tiny downtime percentage. One could think with having a network of servers, there would be multiple places for a single image. Still, their thumbnail feature instead of full image is something other sites have yet to add (even with it being so easy). And this helps with bandwidth a lot, as if you're only going to a forum thread to see a new message, and you've already seen the images, but they load again. Uploading a png makes the thumbnail that too - some 40kb - about 10x as large as jpg.

Pros:
Ad free except landing pages
Unlimited storage
Nice layout
Cons:
Max file size should be increased
Support forum is down / gone
Some servers are down / slow at times.

i signed up for this site earlier today. I hosted 2 swf files both under 60kb each. I had them in my gallery and then when i put the url in the embed tags it worked.. for about an hour! then they deleted the images and deleted my account. i try to get back to my gallery and it says it is inactive. I didnt do anything against the sites rules and terms but yet they delete everything I had.

I've used image shack for about a month now, and here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
-No login required
-Fairly quick
-Swf files are allowed
-Direct linking allowed
-Hotlinkable
Cons:
-Lately, the files have become corrupted after a few hours, and take you directly to the main page
-File size limit
-sort of lengthy upload times
-scripts bmp images

They advertise unlimited bandwidth?! Lie! They deleted a tiny 5mb sig I had used a total of a dozen times on a message board because they said I exceeded their bandwidth. When I questioned them as to what exactly is unlimited they referred me to their TOS, which states unlimited bandwidth usage. ?? Their Forums were full of similiar complaints, which is probably why they closed their Forums. I don't recommend their service at all.
