It can also be used to direct link images from your personal website or eBay auction. No signup required. Powered by highly reliable Linux dedicated server network. Limitations: File size limit 1.5 MB; File types allowed: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, swf (Flash). Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

I have been waiting 11 minutes and counting to upload a 71 kb photo. I guess that should tell you what I think of it. Shame - it used to be so good. I wish there was a better choice that would give me all the easy options (thumbnails/forum code/etc.) without signing up.

Image shack used to be a nice little image hosting site, but recently it has gotten slow, and image uploads are more prone to time-out error. But hey, if you get it to work, it is great.

Their site is not user friendly and does not allow you to delete your account (you can delete your images and stop using it though).

Until they redo their entire website with a better layout and faster severs, this is one of the worst servers around. It use to be good, but now the site is too slow.

I really like imageshack -- it is simple, it makes thumbnails, and gives you all the linkcodes to display the image on every site. However the service gets slower and slower every day, and it does not seem to improve at all. If you have broadband or cable, you had better use another free imagehost, or you will probably get frustrated soon.

It is a nice concept, but sometimes it is so incredibly slow that it frequently takes over 30 minutes to upload a single, small image. It is practically useless in its current state.
